Stegra (earlier H2 Green Steel) was founded in 2020 with the ambition to accelerate the decarbonization of the steel industry, using green hydrogen. The world’s first large-scale green steel plant will be located in Boden, Northern Sweden, and will use hydrogen produced from renewable electricity to deliver steel in a process emitting as much as 95% less CO2 than steel produced with traditional blast furnace technology.
